Four reasons why we do not charge for our advices

Information is easily accessible these days! When we meet a new prospect, we usually do a financial summary first to find out what they have. Then we do a needs analysis to find out how much coverage they need. Then we do a cash flow to find out the budget they have to cover the need.


However, before a sale is made, we do not earn a single cent. Then why do we still do it?


(1) We have an opportunity for a sale each time we review and find better or more suited products that benefits our prospects!

The industry is always changing. Cost of insurance is getting cheaper and cheaper each year! Means we always have something better to offer especially when it comes to term plans!

(2) Client Acquisition is important for us.

Even if a customer don't have anything to buy from us, I have learnt from my hubby that customer acquisition is very important. Through the years, when you stay long enough in the industry and outlive your competitors from your mutual friends, you gain the upper hand and trust of the prospect. He/She might not have anything to buy from us now. But needs and situation may change, a newborn, a life partner, death in the family... etc... That is when we come in and our advices become valuable to everyone in the family.

(3) Our prospects can also be our referrals!

When a prospect like us, they will always have somebody to refer to us. That's how our free services can help ourselves to acquire more prospects! More prospects = more opportunities = more chances of sales!

(4) Expanding our knowledge in products.

Doing financial summary is a tedious job. It usually takes us 3 hours on average to do one. However, it really broadens our knowledge because the type of policies that people buy may be from over 5 years ago and those products may no longer be available in the current market. So understanding the type of policies people used to buy can help us a lot in our work, to take a peek into what our seniors used to do for their customers, how they plan, how the market evolved and changed through the years!
