For season investors out there, investing in the stock market couldn't have been a more happier time because of the roller coaster ride due to the COVID-19 impact on the economy and businesses all around the world.
Huge impact are deeply felt by Small & Medium Businesses (SMEs) mostly but some of the well known brands that we know are facing cash flow issues too when human traffic stops, alot of countries went into deep sleep to practice safe distancing and keep the virus at bay. I must applaud the efforts took by Singapore Government to ensure that the virus outbreak is kept contained and borders were shut down to limit the transmission of COVID in densely populated country like Singapore. And the government helps out the people who are affected by COVID - those who lost their jobs, companies closed down, made to suffer a pay cut and future prospects turn bleak, and thankful for the government to step in and draw from our past reserves to help the people through this tough times.
Looking back at the past 6 - 9 months in the real world not just the stock market, things have definitely changed - the way we work, the way we get food, how we all are masked up before going out now, how businesses uses technology like social media ever more to reach out to customers and countries all around the world were made to work together and fight against the virus.

Stock market is usually just a reflection of how the real businesses operate in our world. And it's usually a lagging indicator meaning when things happened in the business world - say fraud case in a company or record breaking sales reported in the last quarter will have significant effect on its stock price. Because ultimately, when we invest into a company, we are investing into this business's future and prospect, and an educated decision when you invest, not merely hearsay or because the editor or investment adviser says so.

I can't emphasis most on the importance of being financially educated to invest for your future and your children's / next generation's legacy, it's so important that WE (Wendy & Edward) actualy ran a holiday camp to teach young kids aged 5 to 12 about business and investing. Hopefully to make business and investing terms fun and yet educational, but more importantly prompting parents to learn the importance of how the young ones cna use time to turn the tide to their advantage. We called the camp " Anywhere Music & Money" and so heartening to see the kids have fun and really learnt key skills they need to further develop and start building their investment portfolio.

So coming back to today's topics, what are our options when it comes to investing in the stock market? There's a few questions to answer that i think it's really important before we invest. And they are:
Knowing your risk appetite
How much should i invest?
How long should i invest to grow my portfolio?
What should i invest in?
How do i invest from where i am?
What's my goal to invest my money? (Begin with the End in mind)
Who can i learn from to invest my money (Model after successful results/person)
And these questions are not the most comprehensive but yet they lay the foundation of investing: WHY do you invest?
When your answer to WHY you invest is clear, whatever you do when you're investing will be well aligned and you will take investing seriously.
Over the next few posts, we'll explore the questions and share some of my experience when it comes to starting to invest and my learning journey so you can be one step ahead to kickstart your investment journey too!

Currently i'm vested in the US stock market through this brokerage firm called "ThinkorSwim" or TD Ameritrade. Here's their website do check them out and read the guides on how to open an investment account before you can get started to invest. And i'm using Options strategies to generate consistent income through stock investment and building my portfolio every month to grow my portfolio from 4 figures now to my end goal: 7 figure portfolio that can feed my family for LIFE, and for generations once they too learn up this skill of generating income from the stock portfolio.
Hope to share more on my investment learnings and strategies here and also my journey towards financial freedom together with all of you. Feel free to ask me more questions.
